The Threshold Group family has been doing this since 2002, and over that time we’ve built training systems that take someone who’s never held a blower hose and turn them into an owner who can quote a job with confidence, schedule a crew, and look a homeowner in the eye and tell them exactly what’s going into their attic. Every location starts the same way: with structured onboarding, not a binder and a handshake.
Initial Training
Week one isn’t about memorizing R-values. It’s about understanding how an insulation business actually runs day to day. Franchisees spend their initial training at a Threshold Verified facility where they learn the three core services, attic insulation, spray foam insulation, and blown-in insulation, from the ground up. You’ll learn what fiberglass actually does versus closed-cell foam versus cellulose, and why a 1,400-square-foot rancher in one climate needs a different approach than a two-story colonial somewhere else. More important, you’ll learn the operational rhythm: how to measure a job, how to price it using our written-price-before-work model, how to schedule crews, and how to order from the eight material brands we keep on hand: Owens Corning, Johns Manville, Knauf, Rockwool, CertainTeed, Icynene, Demilec, and GreenFiber. You’ll also get hands-on time with the software that runs your leads, your calendar, and your job files, plus hiring and marketing training built around the Threshold Standard. Garrett Sloane, our owner, sits in on parts of training. He doesn’t pitch. He tells you what he’s seen go wrong and what to avoid.
Launch Support
Opening your doors is where most franchise systems go quiet. That’s not how Aspen works. Before you run your first job, you’ll have local marketing assets built for your territory: your website, your Google Business Profile, your service-area pages, and a plan for how to get found when someone searches for attic insulation nearby. The lead engine is set up so calls ring to a live person 24/7. That’s a brand standard, not a suggestion. When your first jobs come in, you’re not reading a manual and guessing.
